Sikhs have been living in Finland since around mid-1970s.
Bikramjit Singh, who moved to Finland from Punjab, India, formed the Warriors Hockey Club in Helsinki in 2013 and that Club has since grown and produces several teams, Men, women and Juniors. The Club won the Finnish men's national
league title in the 2023 season.
Three players from the Club were selected for Finland's National team at the Euro Hockey Championship 111 held in Kirklareli, Turkey in July 2025.
India's Gold medal winning team at Helsinki 1952 Olympic Games included four Sikh players - Dharam Singh; Balbir Singh Sr.; Udham Singh Kullar and Grahanandan ‘Nandy' Singh. Balbir Singh Sr scored five goals in the Final against Netherlands at these Games which is still a record in an Olympic hockey final.
