Mohinder Singh Amar was born in Alor Star, Kedah, Malaysia. He studied at Sultan Abdul Hamid College, Alor Star, Kedah.
He represented Malaysia from 1973 to 1981.
He played in the Buenos Aires 1978 and Bombay 1982 World Cups.
He played in the 1978 and 1982 Asian Games, SEAP Games 1973 and 1975, Sea Games 1977, 1979 and 1981.
He represented Malaysia Police.
